At RCHK we strive to build a culture that promotes peace and democracy, values diversity and works towards a sustainable future for all. We have 43 nationalities represented in our school community and we would love to hear your story. If you would like to share a personal/favourite story during Book Week we would love to schedule you in. Please contact [email protected] with an available time.
Dr Elaine Cheung
Yr 12 Language and Literature students were privileged to have Dr Cheung (an RCHK parent) share her distillation of a favourite French poem La Bouteille à la mer by Alfred de Vign. The original source can be viewed at http://fr.wikisource.org/wiki/La_Bouteille_%C3%A0_la_mer. It was a great opportunity for students to consider and analyze a French text as they begin to work on developing their skills of critical analysis and appreciation of culture. For more understanding of the new Language and Literature course please see the video.

One World, Many Nationalities at RCHK - National or Ethnic Dress Parade
23 March (Friday)
During Book Week we usually have a Book Character Parade in the primary School on the last day of Book Week. This year with the theme being One World, Many Stories we decided to order 43 flags for each nationality represented in our diverse community. So instead of a Book Character Parade we will hold a National Dress Parade this year. It will take place on Friday morning March 23 2012. A Catwalk will be erected on the Basketball court with flags fluttering either side. Students are invited to wear their national dress with pride as we celebrate and appreciate the international and diverse flavour of our school community.
